Erle Stanley Gardner Building
Located in downtown Ventura is First National Bank Building, now commonly known as the Erle Stanley Gardner Building.
Erle Stanley Gardner (Wikipedia.org link) is best known for being the creator of the Perry Mason series of stories about a legal detective. He also wrote numerous other books and was himself a practicing attorney from 1917 through 1933. He reportedly enjoyed litigation, but found the rest of law practice boring, and thus started writing, eventually leading him to Perry Mason.
